PROJECT 1: Mobile Traffic, expanding Radio City‘s traffic update broadcast, to incorporate IVR and SMS technologies. The aim is to warn and educate the public about traffic problems in Kabul via their mobile phones, thereby increasing mobility and efficiency!

PROJECT 2: 8AM news via Android! This new mobile application will customise content from one of Afghanistan’s leading investigative newspapers - Hasht e Subh / 8AM - for mobile. Check out 8AM’s new website, also launched during the Lab!

PROJECT 3: Tolo News’ online elections coverage. This site will maximising interaction and user-driven content, and will include mapping public opinion, publicising information about voting booths, visualising timelines and trends and profiling candidates and issues.

PROJECT 4: Radio Rabia Balkhi, will incorporate new SMS and IVR technologies along with social media applications to get messages from women in the northern provinces to a wider audience and to leaders in the community. Messages and questions will cover family, health and legal issues.

PROJECT 5: 1TV Reporting App will feature moderated content from members of the Afghan public. Citizens will be invited to capture images, audio, video and other content and upload via mobile phones for editorial review. Bringing real news in real time to a wider audience!
